TO LOVE ONESELF

It is perfectly OK to love ourselves. We have been instilled that if we do anything for ourselves or for our own sake we are selfish. The truth is that we need time to honor, love and appreciate ourselves just like we do with others. Our own self is the most important person in our lives. We cannot neglect our bodies, our minds, our souls, and our spirits. When we do neglect ourselves for long periods of time our sense of well-being gets affected, we get off balance, and we loose synchrony with who we are, our purpose in life, and our place in the world. We deserve to pay attention, love, pamper, and spoil our own self on a regular basis. We do not have to go too far or spend a lot of money to be able to do this. Just take time to enjoy the simple things in life, the things that you enjoy doing such as watching a sunset, laying on the grass looking at the sky, reading a book that puts you in a good mood, listening to your favorite music and dancing to it as if nobody was watching, eating icecream with no guilt, cooking your favorite food and then eating it in style using your best china, writing a poem or saying one out loud, singing a song that makes you smile even when you cannot sing, enjoying a bath or a shower indulging in the smells of your favorite soap, and the feeling of warm water touching your skin…There are so many ways to help ourselves feel relaxed, happy, and happy to have done something to lift our spirit, that there is really no excuse not to do it. Lets begin savoring every moment life has to offer today, and dedicate special moments to our own selves.
